As an entrepreneur in the cannabis industry myself, I’ve come to realize there are certain things you should not do or say when you’re contacting clients on a daily basis. There are also certain conflicting discussions I’ve learned to resolve when working in cooperation with another human being. It’s strange how we as human beings tend to react to another human being when they do something we don’t like.

Remember when you were a kid and you played with your siblings like it was nothing then you’d have your little fights with them? They would fight back with you, but then all too soon you both would get over it and keep playing as happily as ever? My intuition tells me we need to analyze these children because it seems they just get over conflicting issues easily.

In this article, I’ll be going over ways you can resolve and prevent conflicting relationships in the workplace that’s different than how children handle their conflicts. It’s healthier and it’s better for you as an adult. Although we will take a few techniques children use, it will help you enhance your ability to live like a peaceful guru.

Why You Need to Stop REACTING and Start Taking Control Of Your Life

Now, as adults, we allow certain things to get to us, especially when we ‘work’ so hard that it leads to a burnout. When you burn out, your emotions and brain are in a state of REACTIVE. Reactive is defined as occurring as a result of stress or emotional upset reactive depression. It means an individual is readily responsive to a stimulus in the environment. In simplified words, you easily allow things or people to get to you which changes your emotions. When someone does something or says something you don’t like, the natural tendency is to become angry, sad, fearful or frustrated.Your ability to become annoyed skyrockets through the roof which makes you vulnerable to others influencing your behavior and thoughts. In the end, you can choose to not allow outside factors to affect you with some time and patience.

If you want to prevent any conflicting relationships that will brew in the workplace then you need to understand that you have a choice to either REACT or TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR EMOTIONS. You can manage your emotions internally through several methods I’ll go over later on. But for now, you must realize it’s you who chooses to be upset by something that will ultimately affect everything around you. This includes your workplace, coworkers, friends, and business associates. Do you think someone who assumes the role of president allows situations to get to them easily? If they did then we as the employees would all be in big trouble. It is assumed that the person in the role of the president would choose the high road and do what’s best for our country,  and make rational decisions. The idea of letting little nuances get to them and affect their train of thought is not associated with the role of a leader. Now let’s dive in deeper of the methods to prevent conflicting relationships in the workplace.

Practice The Power of Positivity

You may be thinking, “Wait, I am positive” or “I know what positivity is because I do it all the time.” Well, you may think you do and that’s okay. But if that were true then for those of you readers frowning when you’re on your way to work this section is for you. If you were positive then you would be smiling all the time especially on your way to work. The best way to prevent any conflicts is to be positive by internally working on your emotions. One way is to tell the universe “thank you” for all the good that’s happened in your life. Gratitude is very powerful thought and emotion when you reflect on the things you do have and show appreciation for your accomplishments that’s brought you this far. Practice these methods, and you’ll find yourself more apt to feel powerful in a positive way.

Another way to practice positivity is to generate a peaceful mind and clearing out the negativity from your mind.  In a book called, “The Power of Positivity Thinking” by Norman Vincent Peale, the book states you can pray your problems away to some higher power. I’m not suggesting this method will help you erase your problems, but it will help you ease your mind of those problems if you’re someone who believes in higher forms of power. If you’re new to the spiritual practice, here’s a way to think of it, “Please give me peace of mind. I’m an all powerful being that allows me to handle anything that comes my way.” Or anything that will help you feel better and clear your mind. Another element is to forgive yourself and know you have the power to change problems for the better. Be sure to read the book I recommended above as that help give perspective on how to change how you think and become a more positive thinker. I linked an audio book version in case you wanted to listen to it on your way to work.

Now that you understand the first foundational method of handling your reactions in certain conflicts in your workplace by means of taking control of your emotions and reactions in the workplace. It will be easier for you to be on your way to having a peaceful mind altogether. In addition to having a positive mind, this perspective will help you become more in control of your emotions, thoughts when faced with difficult situations.
