Thanks to a Colorado based start-up called LEAF, the opportunity to grow and maintain a cannabis plant is within reach for consumers of all skill levels who want to grow their own medical cannabis from the comfort of their home. LEAF is a revolutionary at-home system, a mini refrigerator about 24 inches deep, 24 inches wide, and 60 inches tall, this system completely automates the growing process, including climate control, nutrient dosing, pH balancing and more.
The LEAF is paired with a mobile app for both iOS and Android that offers an easy-to-use interface and beautiful design, which includes step by step video instructions to assist along the growing process. The LEAF system has an optional feature to connect to your home’s water and sewage for automated watering. With high tech sensors and patent pending automation technology, the team behind LEAF understands that the growing process can be difficult if you’re not a skilled horticulturist, and allows for anyone to be able to grow high-quality cannabis with ease.
LEAF was developed and created by Yoni Ofir. Ofir became frustrated with the unreasonable amount of time, money and effort it took to grow his own cannabis. This is where the idea of LEAF originated from, and after creating a personal LEAF unit for himself, he noticed the immediate high levels of interest from his friends who were wanting similar units. Yoni Ofir has a strong background in hardware and has a history in developing online technology that helps with automation. In late 2011 Yoni launched Alcohoot as the World’s First Smartphone Breathalyzer. He won several prestigious product awards such as Red Dot Award: Product Design 2014, Entrepreneur Magazine 100 Brilliant Companies 2014, Mashable Choice Award 2014.
