Thousands of entrepreneurs, investors, growers, and product companies arrived at the Rio Convention Center in Nevada – many in town for the entire week of cannabis conferences taking place around Las Vegas. The largest business expo of the year, two convention halls of exhibitors with products, services, and inventions that are revealing the future of the legalized cannabis industry.

From grow rooms built inside of stacked storage containers, the latest in LED lighting, POS seed-to-sale software and hardware, alongside investment companies and management services – the MJBizCon is the largest cannabis business expo we’ve seen this year.

Pre-session boot-camps on cannabis entrepreneurship opportunities, two days worth of sessions ranging from legal canna-business insights from the state of Nevada, marketing and protecting cannabis intellectual property, and the values of medicinal marijuana to reduce the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), the topics of discussion offered were broad brushes of the many aspects of the legal cannabis industry, along with several in-depth sessions.

Once the day of sessions, exploring the exposition rooms came to an end, the networking events, after-parties, and VIP events began. Real friendships and real opportunities were created on the rooftop of the Rio Hotel during the multiple during the after-events, passing joints, vape pens and extracts of preference in the penthouse suites around Vegas.

Many of the celebrity brands in the cannabis industry were in attendance as well. Willie Nelson’s brand Willie’s Reserve was promoted at a Women Grow event, with attendees donning his signature headband and posing for #williesreserve on Instagram.

Juju Royal, a cannabis brand represented by Julian Marley also launched that week, with a sponsored after party at the VooDoo Lounge.

Silver State Trading– Silver State Trading is dedicated to becoming Nevada’s premier cultivator, manufacturer and distributor of medical-grade cannabis and associated products and  Purple Haze Properties, LLC – a company partnered with the family of the late Jimi Hendrix – announced a partnership with California’s Finest, a cannabis product company created alongside Berner of Taylor Gang Records and the founder of Cookies, a streetwear fashion company from San Francisco, and longtime collaborator with The Cookie Family, strain breeders, and cannabis genetics mavens known for Girl Scout Cookies, Skittles and Gelato. LEAFS by Snoop also announced – exclusively to his new cannabis lifestyle platform, MerryJane – a selected series of strains chosen by the hip-hop cannabis mogul himself – launching LEAFS at an exclusive event in Colorado during the Marijuana Business Conference and Expo.

One of the largest events of the cannabis conference industry season, the Marijuana Business Conference and Expo did not disappoint. The next expo is already planned for May 9-11th in Orlando, Florida and savvy entrepreneurs have already added it to their calendar.
