A look into the Cannabis Experiential Retreat, where you expand your mind, awaken your spirit and strengthen your body at Cannabliss Retreats, hosted in Malibu, California.
Each Cannabliss Retreat provides each attendee with a blissed-out experience that effortlessly blends conscious expanding opportunities with education, excitement, and elevation. Sari and the team behind Cannabliss Retreats extended an invitation for DCN to experience April 20th’s Day celebration to get a peek into what a day is like at there week-long retreat.
Andrea and I entered the world of Cannabliss retreats at a private location in Malibu. I wasn’t sure what to expect as I never do at cannabis inspired events. That’s what makes them so intriguing. The personality of each event reflects those running the show. The adventure of arriving at the retreat location was an experience in itself. We arrived at the given location to park our car and were greeted by the driver of a luxury shuttle which takes us to the site. He offered us cold water as we made the trip out there. We arrived just in time for the evening speaker panel.
The panel, which consisted of high profiled thought leaders, captivated retreat members and party goers alike. They’re advocating for common causes as the de-stigmatization of Cannabis and education on plant medicine. They also discussed topics such as legalization within the NFL, cannabis, and healthcare, and collective consciousness.
Guests were able to partake in artistic workshops, enable their senses through the sensory activating experiences, dance to the music, take a dip in the pool or even chill in the hot tub.
The evening was topped off with a dinner and an exclusive live performance by STELLAMARA. They shared the instrument’s stories of ancient Syria and beyond. The group was intimate and enraptured with the music and belly dancing. A sensual way to end the evening that kept everyone craving for more.

Dr. Price’s Medical Cannabis practice has been peer reviewed. His dedication and forward thinking is recognized on the national stage. Relying on evidence-based principles, Dr. Ira Price developed an effective clinical pathway for the evaluation of patients. Most recently he developed KARE – Cannabis Accreditation, Research and Education – a Seminar style certification for the medical and lifestyle communities.
Dr. Price assumed many roles within the growing Cannabis industry; including the medical director and research advisor of federally approved Licensed Producers. He assisted in the development of SOP’s and regulatory standards that would become part of the backbone of the corporation.

The Vision of Cannabliss Retreats
I had the chance to chat with Sari a few weeks later. We dove into a discussion about the cannabis industry overall, thought leadership, and the overall missions of Redefining Cannabis and Cannabliss Retreats.
Hannah: Where did the idea for Cannabliss Retreats evolve from?
Sari: Cannabliss Retreats came out of a difficult time for me. It was a significant shift in life where I felt lead to challenge everything I was comfortable in and in that space I really felt the call to decide what I wanted to do in this world and how I wanted to show up and discover what my soul purpose was. For me choosing your own wellbeing is the most important thing we can do.
Awakening to our own spiritual existence will free us from mental slavery. I saw a vision of a wellness center; I wanted to provide a space where people could receive education and treatment from medical and holistic practitioners, using cannabis and other plants medicines.
We need to give the power back into the hands of the people, the potential for them to understand that all healing starts within. This opioid epidemic is so gut wrenching to me, on so many levels we are literally being drugged into a slumber and in many cases forced into addiction, because we have not been able to choose otherwise.
The mission is to help change all this, contribute to the greater vision of this paradigm shift and help influence as many people by expanding our presence and growing our community.
Hannah: How many retreats have you done so far?
Sari: We just wrapped up our 3rd retreat and are now planning for our 4th one and first-ever cannabis retreat in Canada, August 31 – Sept 4.
We are very excited to enter the Canadian market, the brands and community are extremely responsive and thrilled to collaborate with us. We have a strong foothold in the Canadian market, both Dr. Ira and I are Canadian born, Ira lives in Ontario and through his two medical cannabis clinics, he is a very active member of the community.
Hannah: Where will the next retreats take place?
Sari: After Canada, we are exploring other locations outside of North America, possibly Jamaica, Mexico, Netherlands, and of course different states in the US. It’s an exciting time, and we are excited to grow and continue to build our global community.
Hannah: What is one of the biggest takeaways from Cannabliss retreats?
Sari: The feedback from our guests have been consistent that the educational portion has allowed them to take ownership of their health, the community has created a sense of connection with this mission, and the spiritual integration has allowed them to forge a new relationship with cannabis and their own emotional healing.
We have received testimonials from previous non-cannabis users that have had their lives and health transformed from the retreat. People have reduced their medications that were giving them terrible side effects. They have been able to help friends and family with specific diseases or ailments.
DCN: What kind of partners/exhibitors do you bring in to create this environment?
Sari: We have worked with almost every reputable brand in this industry at some point, through partnership, sponsorship or collaboration. We collaborate with industry experts in all areas of the field, and our goal is to grow as a community with everyone we connect with.
DCN: Events truly connect people together offline, why do you believe that events are critical as the cannabis industry begins its transition to becoming an industry?
Sari: You can teach someone facts and they will understand logically, but cannabis is a heart opener, a healer, and a life teacher, and you can’t teach someone the experience of this magical plant by just telling them what it’s all about. We focus on an experiential journey with our guests, community bonding is fortified in person and the educational and spiritual portion is all about the multi-sensory exploration of our inner world.
DCN: As this event has evolved, what would you say has been one of your proudest achievements with this event?
Sari: Getting this far and still making it without being funded! We are a startup, and it’s tough to do this grassroots, the fact that this is still growing is nothing short of a miracle with our small team and limited resources. So we keep on keeping on, as long as Santa Maria wants us to.
Follow the Evidence
Education needs to be strong and right. Not all communication is equal. Sari encourages people to follow the evidence. “When you do that it will lead back to the fact that cannabis is healing a a lot of people. However, Cannabis isn’t for everybody. It’s not everybody’s medicine. We have hundreds of thousands of plants. Cannabis is the gateway to an infinite amount of magic on this planet through plant medicine. I advocate for all plants equally…”
Cannabliss Retreats couldn’t have emerged at a better time. The world is in desperate need of healing. Learn more about Redefining Cannabis and Cannabliss Retreats and check out the next event location on their website.
